The Fishmonger's Wife has been cooking delicious Fish n Chips for over 15 years, and has recently moved to Hawthorne. The new cafe area is in a beautifully renovated old Queensland colonial home, with sit down table service, including cozy booths and other seating. Large groups of up to 20 people are welcome in this comfortable air conditioned cafe. Outdoor seating and takeaway options are also available.

The Fishmonger's Wife is a specialty fish and chip shop, that sells traditional fish and chips, along with gourmet options. There is a dedicated gluten free fryer to avoid contamination, and a separate gluten free menu available. Most of the fish sold is fresh Australian fish, and they make their own marinades, so are confident about gluten free status. Gluten free choices include grilled or battered fish (ask for GF version - $1 extra), normal chips, rice, selection of salads, salt, pepper + garlic calamari (ask for GF version), aioli sauce, as well as marinated barramundi, snapper, salmon, prawns, sea scallops and baby octopus.
