Robyn L Miller, BA Psych (Melb), Grad Dip Soc Sc - Family Therapy (Swin), ACIS, ACIM, is a family therapist. She specialises in gastroenterological disorders such as Coeliac Disease, Crohn's Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Ulcerative Colitis, Fructose Malabsorption and the frequently associated difficulties of depression, anxiety, phobias, panic disorders and disordered eating. Robyn offers consultations with individuals, couples, and families.
Mindfulness Meditation Sessions
A new group will be starting specifically for learning and practicing skills in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction techniques. The program runs for 8 weeks, and the cost is $250 (concession available), which includes all handouts and DVDs to assist continuing the practice at home.
The program is of interest to those diagnosed with gastroenterological disorders, as an additional strategy to assist in reducing stress, which is known to aggravate these disorders.
What does the Mindfulness-based programme offer?
Using Mindfulness-based stress reduction and Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy techniques. By direct experience and practice, developing the skills and knowledge to cultivate attitudes of:
- Patience
- Compassion for yourself
- Open-mindedness
- Gentle persistence
- Being in a different relationship with your thoughts and feelings
Robyn has been facilitating Mindfulness Meditation for some years, and has had training in leading this practice.
