As the name implies, Kumo Izakaya & Sake Bar offers Japanese izakaya dining. This style of eating permits good flexibility of ingredients and serving sizes. The restaurant offers very extensive special dietary requirements menus. As well as a separate gluten free menu, there are also menus for egg free, lactose/dairy free, sesame seed/soy free, seafood and fish free, crustacean and mollusc free, allium/onion/garlic free, and chilli free. Izakaya's has a great range of small and large dishes on offer, and prices range between $6-$20 per dish. The menu changes regularly, and gluten free soy sauce is used in all cooking on the premises. The restaurant is housed in an architecturally unique building, iconic to the area and built 1956. The eclectic Japanese design style of the restaurant blends industrial and Art Deco influences. Fully licensed, group bookings are popular. A twelve seat private dining room is also available.
