The cafe offers a range of vegetarian food including vegan, ovo-lacto, macrobiotic, ayervedic, Western and Asian recipes. As the name of the cafe suggests, staff pride themselves on preparing their food with love, joy and delight and serving customers with joy and delight. With an emphasis on healthy choices, most of the dishes served are gluten free. Choose from soups, burgers, fresh salads (rainbow, ayervedic or buckwheat tabouleh), curry, rice, dhal, wraps and a main dish of the day. Examples of main dishes are rice sheet lasagne, hunza pie and frittata. Joy-Discovery Vegetarian Cafe offers an array of gluten free, dairy free and vegan cakes, or select a rich dairy filled delight. Soy ice cream or cream is served on the side. Fair Trade organic East Timor coffee is available, or sample a dandelion cappuccino or decaffeinated coffee with choice of soy or dairy milk.
