Description
Fox in the Box is a warm, inclusive, people-friendly restaurant. They provide seriously delicious, modern Australian comfort food, with a 100% gluten free menu available that can be adjusted to be fructose and lactose friendly.
Life is too short to miss their Herbed Crumbed Schnitzel, or to-die-for Foxy Chocolate Lindt Pudding. It’s hard to pass the Slow-cooked Beef Cheek which melts in your mouth, or the Voluptuous Vixen, a heavenly pavlova floating on a champagne berry soup.
The Prawn Linguine packs a punch, its fresh pasta tossed with a generous amount of prawn sautéed with lemon juice and vodka, adding tang and bite with a twist of chilli, fresh mint and basil. “The dish is simple, but delivers the frisson that I want when I’m eating in a restaurant.” (Sunday Age, 2008)
Staff at the Fox believe that food should be downright tasty and healthy so they make their own sauces, curry bases, and famous herbed breadcrumbs (Sunday Herald, 2009) and food from scratch. As Epicure (2008) said, “This smart, shiny restaurant doesn't shout its diet-sensitive credentials from the rooftop, but happily caters for everyone. Owners Clare Hetzel and Sally Bowen want to pioneer a new kind of ‘inclusive’ hospitality, and they're succeeding admirably well.”
Cub meals: The Fox embraces the smaller members of the pack. When dining with cubs, please book in for 6.00 pm when the cubs menu for under 12s is available with 100% gluten free options.
